Boss Stage #1: Vocabulary

Learning Objective: 
  • Review all the vocabulary words in Levels 11-18.
  • 348 terms total.

Mastery Task:
  • Play Gravity: Superboss H on Quizlet.
  • Must get to 30,000 points.
    • BONUS: get 60,000 points.
    • BONUSx2: get 100,000 points.
    • BONUSx2: get a #1 score.

Boss Stage #2: Reading

Learning Objective: 
  • Review all the textbook lessons from Levels 11-18.

Mastery Task:
  • Read random selections from Flashcards: Superboss H aloud to the teacher.
    • Must be in shuffle mode (i.e. random cards).
    • Must start with Chinese.
  • Must reach 80% reading mastery.

Boss Stage #3: Grammar

​Learning Objective: 
  • Review all the key grammar structures from Levels 1-8.
  • 67 structures total.

Mastery Task:
  • Complete random exercises from the Superboss "H" Grammar: Flashcards.
    • There are four kinds of cards: Grammar Cards, Translation Cards, Rule Cards, and Detective Cards.
      • Grammar Cards: use the given structure to make your own example sentence.
      • Translation Cards: translate the sentence accurately into Chinese.
      • Rule Cards: explain the given grammar rule using English.
      • Detective Cards: find and fix all the grammar mistakes.
    • Read your sentences aloud to the teacher.
    • Must be in shuffle mode (i.e. random cards).
    • Must start with Terms.
  • Must reach 80% grammar mastery.

Boss Stage #4: Story Narration

Learning Objective:
  • Review the following key transitional elements and cohesive devices:
    1. A+比+B+更+adj

Boss Stage #5: Chinese Chat

Learning Objective: 
  • Review the following key conversation topics:
    1. Discuss your impressions of Stevenson School and why.
    2. Discuss the weather and climate at Stevenson School.
    3. Talk about your favorite and least favorite Chinese dishes, and why.
    4. Ask for and give directions to a location at the school.
    5. Describe your experiences with different illnesses at the school.
    6. Gossip about dating, parties, and different couples at Stevenson School.
    7. Describe the dorms at the school: layout, location, furniture, etc.
    8. Talk about the various features of the dorms that you like or dislike.
    9. Talk about sports at Stevenson School. Talk about your favorite and least favorite sports, and why.
    10. Discuss ways of healthy living, including your own exercise habits.
