  • ​NOTE: A 小区 is a planned and, almost always, gated urban residential community that incorporates various convenience facilities such as grocery stores and beauty salons. Residents have to pay a maintenance fee. Upscale 小区 have a clubhouse complete with a restaurant and a fitness center.

  • NOTE 1: This structure expresses the idea that that you are doing something FOR a certain person, organization, or thing.
  • NOTE 2: Don't confuse with the single preposition "为... with the "为了..." structure. They are different structures.
  • > 为人民服务。=Serve [for] the people.
  • > 她为美国政府工作。= She works for the United States government.
  • > 为...干杯!= To drink a toast for... [X person or event]!
