This is a special project! You will use the language you learned in Level 17 to find an apartment in Beijing.
You must follow and complete all steps of this Webquest in order.
You should show the teacher your work at each of the checkpoints.
All the questions in the Webquest must be completely and correctly answered. You must redo any questions that are not correct.
You may work individually OR in a group of two.
Project Guidelines:
You will go on a "Cultural Webquest" through the Chinese internet, using real Chinese websites and online resources to hunt for, rent, and sell apartments in China. Through this webquest, you will apply your Chinese language skills in an authentic context to explore different aspects of modern Chinese living conditions, culture, and geography. You will be provided with questions as well as links to resources that will guide your webquest. Please number and answer each question in your Journal.
Response Format:
Your responses should be in Chinese (unless otherwise stated). This includes proper names--use a translator or dictionary.
You should write as much as you need to answer the questions. There is no minimum word count.
Generally, you DO NOT need to answer in complete sentences. However, you SHOULD use the appropriate register for all responses. For example, if you are asked to write a formal letter, you should use complete sentences.
While much of the research for this project can be duplicated using English language resources, please do not do so (unless otherwise stated). The point of this project is for to apply your language skills to explore the authentic Chinese internet.
Grading:
Each question will be graded on the following criteria. If your response does not meet this minimum criteria, it must be redone:
COMPLETENESS: All parts of the question are completely answered.
CORRECTNESS: All parts of the question are correctly answered. Please read each prompt carefully and ask if you are unsure what to do.
DELIVERY: The register used is appropriate for the situation. May include several lapses but should be generally consistent.
LANGUAGE USE: Chinese is used at all times. Appropriate vocabulary and grammar is used. Only minor errors and few typos.
