Boss Stage #1: Vocabulary

- Must get to 60,000 points.

Boss Stage #2: Listening

- Review all major listening tasks from Levels 21-30.
- 5 different recorded narratives.
Mastery Task:
- Listen to the C3 Final Exam recordings (click the link).
- For each narrative, answer the questions on the "Lesson 10 Textbook Final Exam" worksheet.
- Must get at least 80% of the questions correct.
Boss Stage #3: Reading

- Review all the textbook lessons from Levels 21-30.
Mastery Task:
- Read random selections from the C3 Final Boss Reading: Flashcards.
- Read aloud to the teacher.
- Must be in shuffle mode (i.e. random cards).
- Must start with Chinese.
- Must reach 80% reading mastery.
Boss Stage #4: Grammar
Learning Objective:
Mastery Task:
- Review all the key grammar structures from Levels 21-30.
- 81 structures total.
Mastery Task:
- Complete random exercises from the C3 Final Boss Grammar: Flashcards.
- There are five kinds of cards: Grammar Cards, Translation Cards, Rule Cards, Detective Cards, and Puzzle Cards.
- Grammar Cards: use the given structure to make your own example sentence.
- Translation Cards: translate the sentence accurately into Chinese.
- Rule Cards: explain the given grammar rule using English.
- Detective Cards: find and fix the grammar mistakes.
- Puzzle Cards: solve the given grammar puzzle (fill in the blank, sentence scrambling, transformation, etc.)
- Read your sentences aloud to the teacher.
- Must be in shuffle mode (i.e. random cards).
- Must start with Terms.
- There are five kinds of cards: Grammar Cards, Translation Cards, Rule Cards, Detective Cards, and Puzzle Cards.
- Must reach 80% grammar mastery.
Boss Stage #5: Story Narration

- Review the following key conversation topics:
- Discuss the pros and cons of living on or off campus. Describe in detail the layout of your house/room.
- Discuss your favorite Chinese regional cuisines, dishes, and restaurants.
- Talk about your shopping preferences and criteria.
- Discuss your academic plans, including your plans for college and for future careers.
- Gossip about romantic relationships (past, present, or hypothetical) in your life, or among friends.
- Discuss the influence of the Internet on your life; debate the pros and cons of the Internet.
- Discuss the pressures and academic expectations of being a student at Stevenson School.
- Debate the pros and cons of working while in school, either now or in college.
- Discuss in detail the geography of China, including: terrain, rivers, coasts, population, ethnic minorities, and latitude/area.
- Talk about your favorite provinces, cities, and tourist attractions around China; explain why.
Mastery Task:
- Use the C3 Final Boss Rubric to chat with a Native Chinese Speaker about these topics.
- You must record a video.
- You may not use any other prompts.
- This video should be shot in one take.
- This video must be at least ten minutes long.
- Must score 80% on the C3 Final Boss "Chinese Chat" Rubric.
